Currently, we are seeking a Vice President of Transmission for a well-established, technology-agnostic power generator, with a project pipeline exceeding 5GW. Reporting directly to the executive team, the VP will spearhead transmission interconnection efforts across markets, including MISO, PJM, SPP, WECC, and ERCOT.
The Vice President of Transmission Interconnection will oversee strategy across multiple markets and play a pivotal role in managing the transmission interconnection process. This role ensures compliance with regional market requirements and contributes to the company’s overall growth.
- Lead the transmission interconnection processes, focusing on MISO, PJM, ERCOT, and WEC markets.
- Accelerate transmission interconnection efforts in MISO and PJM to drive development and investment decisions.
- Manage interconnection strategies, including cluster processes in RTOs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth interconnection, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, including market operators.
- Utilize in-house software for interconnection project management across various markets, ensuring accurate modeling and forecasting.
- Engage with senior leadership to provide strategic guidance on transmission interconnection initiatives and market-specific challenges.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, utilities, and transmission service providers.
- Lead production cost modeling development and implementation.
- Manage interconnection planning and execution, including overseeing third-party vendors.
Requirements:
- 10-15 years of experience in transmission interconnection within the energy sector.
- Proven experience in the MISO market is required; knowledge of PJM, ERCOT, and WEC markets is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in software applications across energy markets.
- Expertise in managing cluster processes in RTOs, including scenario analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to balance technical expertise with strong communication skills, particularly with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and company leadership.
- Experience with production cost modeling.
