Our client is seeking a highly strategic and resourceful Vice President of Procurement to lead sourcing and supply chain efforts across a fast-growing infrastructure platform. This executive will be responsible for developing vendor relationships, building a procurement playbook, negotiating major contracts, and establishing sourcing strategy for everything from data center components and telecom systems to solar panels and battery storage.
The successful candidate will enter at a formative stage, with some preferred vendors identified but no firm commitments in place—creating a unique opportunity to shape the company’s procurement framework from the ground up.
Procurement Leadership
- Design and implement procurement strategy across power, telecom, and campus infrastructure.
- Wind, solar, BESS, GFG, and fiber.
- Evaluate and recommend vendor options, leveraging early vendor discussions while maintaining neutrality.
- Create a balanced procurement culture that values technical input from internal stakeholders while ensuring cost-effective outcomes.
Vendor Management & Negotiation
- Lead all vendor negotiations; drive favorable pricing and contract terms without compromising delivery timelines or quality.
- Monitor market conditions to anticipate and mitigate risks around supply disruptions, pricing volatility, and product performance.
- Develop relationships across key suppliers in solar, batteries, telecom equipment, and EPC services.
Market Intelligence & Sourcing
- Actively engage with the market through industry conferences, spec reviews, and informal channels to collect product intel and performance feedback.
- Identify new suppliers, emerging technologies, and potential areas for long-term strategic sourcing advantages.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner closely with engineering, telecom, and development leads to support site design, power infrastructure planning, and long-lead procurement decisions.
- Ensure alignment between procurement strategy and development timelines across multiple large-scale projects.
Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain leadership—preferably in infrastructure, energy, or hyperscale environments.
- 10+ years of wind, solar, BESS, and/or GFG experience.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills; proven ability to manage vendor performance and resolve conflicts.
- Deep knowledge of sourcing power systems, electrical components, telecom gear, and renewable energy products (solar, batteries, etc.).
- Ability to operate in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certification in supply chain or business is a plus.
