We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sr Associate, Financial Planning and Analysis to join a dynamic developer, owner operator of power generation assets. The ideal candidate will support financial planning, analysis, reporting activities.
- Assist in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes specific to natural gas power generation.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, statements, and models to support decision-making and performance evaluation.
- Monitor and analyze financial trends, variances, and key performance indicators within the power markets.
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business development.
- Review and reconcile financial data, transactions, and accounts related to power generation activities.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.
- Support the preparation of tax returns, audits, and compliance filings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and initiatives.
- Provide support to senior leadership as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Experience with project finance and three-statement modeling (income statement, cash flow, balance sheet).
- 3 – 6 years of experience in finance, preferably within power generation, oil and gas, or data centers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid understanding of financial principles, concepts, and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards and regulations.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the energy sector, particularly in natural gas power generation.
- Knowledge of the power markets and its regulatory environments.
- Experience with financial modeling and scenario analysis.
