Position Overview
- Working and supporting Business Development/A&D, Asset Teams
- Sole geoscience technician responsible for geoscience related data management and workflows
- Generate presentation materials and mapping of geologic, land, and engineering data in support of business development, asset management and reserve reporting
Specific Responsibilities
- Produce presentation quality geological and geophysical, individual displays, and montages
- Maintain geologic (PETRA) databases
- Import and export cultural and well data, directional surveys, formation tops, perfs, pressure and production data into geologic databases including Petra and create variety of maps with associated data
- Digitize 2D seismic, logs, structure, isopach, and land maps
- Research and retrieve data from in-house, online, and geological log libraries and other data sources
- Manipulate data in Microsoft Access and Excel
- Calibrate log images used to create structural and stratigraphic cross-sections
- Maintain and monitor inventory of log, geological, or other corporate data
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of petroleum geology with 5+ years in a geoscience technician role at an E&P company.
- Must be proficient in using Petra and ArcGIS with working knowledge of how to efficiently access and export data from Drilling Info and IHS databases into various databases and software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) required
- Team oriented with strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills; able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, investment and operating partners
- Self-directed, resourceful and creative
- Flexible, comfortable, and effective working in environment with changing priorities and deadlines
- Completes work accurately with high attention to detail
