Asset Manager

Our client is a large Independent Power Producer with 9 gigs of operating assets globally, and another 1.5 gigs of signed PPAs in North America.  We are searching for an Asset Manager to support the commercial oversight for operating wind farms in the assigned region (between 1500 and 1900 megawatts installed) and ensures all commercial and governmental obligations are met.

Successful candidates with have planned wind farms budgets, oversaw performance, supported the management of commercial relationships with turbine OEMs and O&M service providers.  This position also ensures that the operations strategy and management framework developed by the Asset Operations team is implemented consistently across projects in the assigned region.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

•  Interfaces with wind farm staff, Performance Management team, turbine Original Equipment Manufacturers and service providers on routine operational issues and on initiatives in an effort to increase operational and financial performance and reduce risk exposure
•  Supports the management of operational wind farms profit & loss (P&L) activities: assists with the development of project-level annual budgets and longer term business plans
•  Serves as a point of contact regarding financial and operational performance as compared to budget and targets
•  Updates operational quarterly financial estimates in collaboration with the Finance team
•  Facilitates Service Agreements and contracts by working with Procurement and Legal
•  Supports the resolution of significant commercial issues that stem from the operation of the project (e.g., equipment warranties, O&M disputes and performance metrics, landowner agreements, PPAs, interconnection agreements and others)
•  Ensures commercial and governmental obligations are met by tracking key milestones within the major agreements (e.g., turbine supply, O&M, PPA, tax equity, landowner, and interconnection)
•  Coordinates issue resolution and stakeholder management when milestones are delinquent or a trigger event has occurred
•  Takes part in developing and refining operational strategies; Leads and performs analyses of performance and scenarios to develop decision-supporting tools for senior management
•  Performs adhoc analyses on the historical and forward-looking performance of the asset
•  Supports the development and implementation of new project developments, origination and negotiations of new PPAs and financing agreements
•  Participates in development and construction meetings to ensure that operational and asset management requirements, and major contract requirements, are met
•  Supports the Portfolio Management team in reporting to financing and equity partners by providing commentary, estimates and insights on asset performance and commercial developments related to the asset
•  Works with other asset management staff and accounting personnel to ensure reporting obligations are met in a timely manner;
•  Creates and develops market knowledge on the regional electricity markets and works with the Regulatory team as required on compliance matters; Communicates with market balancing authorities and reliability entities as needed
